Golden
Visions Consulting, LLC, is a group of skilled
and experienced specialists, with experience in
a wide variety of programming languages and environments.
It recently completed an online professional referral
system, for finding specialists “on demand.”
The system works as follows. The user requesting
the referral enters parameters for the professional,
along with the user’s own location. The system
then comes back with a list of qualifying leads,
relevancy-ranked according to the geographic distance
from the user. |
“We
used the dtSearch Engine for full-text as
well as fielded data queries. Online searching
with dtSearch was extremely quick and accurate.”

For
searching in its professional referral system, Golden
Visions chose the dtSearch Text Retrieval Engine.
“We programmed dtSearch to index multiple database
formats using the same indexing utility driven by
a configuration table,” said Golden Blount,
Director, Technical Services, Golden Visions. “We
used the dtSearch Engine for full-text as well as
fielded data queries. Online searching with dtSearch
was extremely quick and accurate.”
To program its application, Golden Visions used
Perl. “We found that Perl integrated well with
the dtSearch Engine. As a result of this project,
we now have a set of Perl tools that will generally
work with the dtSearch Engine in any other project
as well.”
In addition to their expertise in working with
Perl, Golden Visions has experience designing,
developing and implementing a wide range of technical
solutions. Specialities include ATM systems, EDI
and other banking systems, and RSA Public Key
Cryptography message technology. |
