dtSearch Case Study - eDocfile Image Capture and Retrieval

eDocfile Adds dtSearch to Extensive Image Capture and Retrieval Arsenal

“eDocfile recommends dtSearch. It will search not only the PDF's and Text Searchable Tiffs but also, most all other document types.”

A National Association of Mortgage Brokers’ Strategic Partner, eDocfile specializes in applications that capture and transmit image data, such as loan data, within a user’s PC. For example, PDF Filer for Point® quickly files PDF files related to a loan in a logical file system that allows them to be retrieved and assembled into book marked PDF files. LOS Paper Archive adds screen-based images to loan origination software. A specialized version of LOS Paper Archive SV, PLD-File notifies a loan officer of new documents in a client’s file.

“It allows the user to refine the search by Proximity...Stemming ...Synonym...Phonic ...and Fuzzy Searching.”

eDocfile also manufactures, for both the mortgage office and the law office, an application called Identify Docs. Identify Docs provides batch OCR of image files, outputting to a text file, a Microsoft Searchable Tiff format, or text searchable PDF. For advanced searching of all three types of files, eDocfile recommends and resells dtSearch to customers of Identify Docs and other eDocfile products.

Explains eDocfile’s Website: “If more search options are desired or if retrieval speed is critical, eDocfile recommends dtSearch. It will search not only the PDFs and Text Searchable Tiffs but also, most all other document types including, Outlook Mail, Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets etc. It allows the user to refine the search by Proximity ‘words within so many words of another, Stemming (the root of the search word), Synonym (related words) Phonic (sound like) and Fuzzy Searching (some of the letters match). It can also limit the search by index data in the Author, Subject, Title and Keywords in a file’s properties.”
